Resolving Google Workspace Integration Errors

Last updated: December 23, 2025

This article explains how to resolve common Google Workspace integration errors in Cyrisma, including authentication failures and access issues caused by disabled Google Drive services. These issues typically occur during initial setup or when required permissions are not enabled in the Google Admin or Google Cloud consoles.

Applies To

  • Google Workspace integrations

  • Google Drive and Google APIs

  • Cloud scanning and data access

Common Error: “Domain Administrators Have Disabled Drive Apps”

Error Description

When attempting to scan or access Google Drive data, you may encounter an error stating:

Domain administrators have disabled Drive apps

This indicates that required Google Drive services or APIs are disabled at the domain level.

Why This Happens

Cyrisma relies on Google Drive and related APIs to access and scan cloud data. If these services are disabled in the Google Admin console, authentication may succeed, but access to Drive data is blocked.

How to Resolve the Issue

Step 1: Sign in to the Google Admin Console

Step 2: Enable Drive and Docs Services

  1. Navigate to Home → Apps → Google Workspace

  2. Select Drive and Docs

  3. Ensure Drive and Docs are set to ON for the appropriate organizational units or for the entire domain

Step 3: Enable Drive SDK Access

  1. In Drive and Docs, go to Features and Applications

  2. Locate Drive SDK

  3. Ensure Allow users to access Google Drive with the Drive SDK API is set to ON

These settings are required for Cyrisma to interact with Google Drive programmatically.

Validation

After updating the settings:

  • Allow a short period for changes to propagate

  • Retry the integration or scan in Cyrisma

  • Confirm that Drive access errors no longer appear

If the error persists, reverify that the settings are enabled for the correct organizational unit.

Summary

  • Google Workspace integration errors are commonly caused by disabled Drive services or APIs

  • Drive and Docs must be enabled in the Google Admin console

  • Drive SDK access is required for scanning and data access

  • Changes may take time to propagate across the domain

If issues continue after verifying these settings, contact Cyrisma Support for further assistance.
