How to Delete a Mitigation Plan in Cyrisma
Last updated: December 23, 2025
Once a mitigation plan is created in Cyrisma, it cannot be deleted directly through the user interface. This article explains why deletion is restricted and outlines the correct process for requesting removal through support.
Why Mitigation Plans Cannot Be Deleted in the UI
Mitigation plans are tied to vulnerability remediation workflows, reporting history, and audit records. To prevent accidental data loss or disruption to compliance tracking, Cyrisma restricts deletion actions to the support team.
This ensures:
Historical remediation data remains intact
Compliance and reporting accuracy is preserved
Accidental deletions are avoided
How to Request Deletion of a Mitigation Plan
If a mitigation plan was created in error or is no longer required, it can be removed through a support request.
Step 1: Confirm the Plan Is No Longer Needed
Before requesting deletion, verify that:
The plan is not actively being worked
It is not required for compliance tracking or reporting
No dependencies rely on the plan
Step 2: Submit a Support Ticket
Open a support ticket with Cyrisma and include the following information:
A clear request to delete mitigation plans
The name(s) of the mitigation plan(s) to be deleted
Whether the request applies to:
Specific plans, or
All mitigation plans you created
Indicate urgency if applicable
Providing exact plan names helps reduce processing time.
Step 3: Await Support Confirmation
Once the request is reviewed:
The Cyrisma Support team will delete the mitigation plan(s)
You will receive confirmation via the support ticket once completed
Processing time may vary depending on the number of plans and request scope.
Key Notes
Mitigation plans cannot be restored once deleted
Deletion does not automatically affect scan results or vulnerabilities
This process applies to both MSP and client instances
